Past the Prologue and Wishful Thinking

Now that the prologue is done.  I am in full revision mode.  Make that revision and addition mode.  When I cut the back story I eliminated a little over 29,000 words of a 95,000 word manuscript.  I worked for three hours last night and only got through about 20 double spaced pages.

So . . . it should only take me 15 nights to revise what I have written, but adding new content to replace what I cut will take a lot longer, I’m afraid.  At one night a week, I might be done by Christmas.  I want to be done by the end of August.

Wishful thinking.

I added in some bad guys last night and plan to give them a lot more page time as I go along.  For instance, when I added them in I expanded a verbal confrontation to a short fist fight.  Adding violence is always fun.  Next I have to figure out some character development to make two of my main characters a little deeper emotionally and one more repulsive.

Should be interesting.
